Lexington Hotels Is 2008 Gold Winner of Prestigious Hermes Creative Award
Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals Honors Hotel Brand for Pro Bono Work

CLEVELAND, Ohio (July 30, 2008) - The Lexington Collection of fine Hotels, Plaza Hotels, and Resorts worldwide was awarded this month by the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals as one of the 2008 gold winners of the Hermes Creative Award for its pro bono work for Plan USA, one of the oldest and largest children's charities in the world. The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.

As the Premier Corporate Partner of Plan USA, Lexington Hotels have made it their mission to Keep Hope Alive for the neediest children in the world through their Dollar A Day program where guests are invited to donate a dollar per day of their stay. Lexington Hotels donate 100% of each dollar raised to Plan USA to support education projects.

The Dollar A Day program was designed to help with the construction of schools for children of all ages - from pre-school through secondary school. The schools will be equipped with latrines and clean, safe drinking water, which often are not available in many rural villages. Proceeds from the Dollar A Day program will initially be applied towards the construction of a primary school in San Juan, Dominican Republic where hurricanes have destroyed much of the area.

"We are incredibly honored to have been recognized for our pro bono work for Plan USA," said Steve Belmonte, President, CEO & Partner of The Lexington Collection. "Lexington hotel owners, general managers, and staff have embraced this partnership wholeheartedly and this esteemed award is definitely because of their drive and dedication."

"Our hats off to the AMCP for honoring the Lexington Hotels as their work will benefit children in the direst situations. We feel this award is a wonderful tribute to their hard work," said Ahuma Adodoadji, Plan USA's President.

Starting in August, Plan USA will air PSAs (Public Service Announcements) and hour-long infomercials featuring Belmonte as its official spokesman. Representing the Lexington brand and owners, Belmonte's television commercials have the potential to reach 100 million consumers nationwide. Plan USA will run the Lexington Collection spots during prime time and highly-rated sports programs on national and cable networks.

According to Belmonte, The Lexington Collection chose Plan USA to help children and families in the poorest countries where there are no public safety nets, few assistance programs, no unemployment benefits and little hope to make things better.

"It has always been my personal belief that no child should live without hope," Belmonte stated. "Not only is it our civic duty to give to those who need our help most, but we all stand to do better in the long run if everyone has a chance to prosper. We at Lexington Hotels are making a concerted push to make sure we give children a fighting chance in this world and we are thrilled to have received the gold medal Hermes award for our efforts."
